Teaching

Adam has more than 20 years of experience as a piano teacher and has trained in early-childhood and advanced piano pedagogy at both the Queensland Conservatorium of Music (Brisbane) and the Sibelius Academy (Helsinki). He is a member of the piano faculty at Meri-Helsinki Musiikkiopisto, teaches privately in Helsinki and gives masterclasses in Finland and abroad. His current doctoral studies also have a pedagogical focus as he discovers ways in which to include a jazz approach into traditional classical piano formative studies. Adam’s passion as an educator is to foster in his students a love for the piano, piano music and music in general. One of Adam’s key methods in encouraging his students is through discovering what music they themselves listen to (often from the cinema, TV, YouTube, Spotify, or video games) and arranging it in tailor made piano covers for the students’ own ability levels. These arrangements will soon be available at www.musicnotes.com
